Who is ONE Transit?
ONE Transit provides economic opportunity and connectivity through planning and developing safe, reliable and future-forward public transit options in Central Oklahoma. Established in 2019 and originally named the Regional Transportation Authority of Central Oklahoma, ONE Transit aims to increase the quality of life for all in the region through a vision of public transit that brings prosperity, opportunity and freedom of movement to Central Oklahoma. ONE Transit is governed by a seven-member board with representation from its member cities – Oklahoma City, Norman and Edmond.

Why Does Central Oklahoma Need Regional Transportation Now?
Preparing for Growth
Central Oklahoma is projected to grow exponentially year-over-year, with studies predicting that the region’s population alone is expected to reach 2 million by 2040. A strong transit system will address quality of life and economic issues caused by the increased traffic, congestion and reduced regional mobility this growth could bring.
Closing the Transit Gap
Central Oklahoma is one of the last metro areas of its size without a comprehensive regional transit system. Establishing a robust regional transit system is critical to compete with peer cities for workforce, economic development and tourism.
Unlocking Regional Potential
A strong transit corridor provides greater convenience for people to travel between communities, creating new opportunities for housing, business growth and tourism.
ONE Transit’s System Plan is a guide for a better-connected Central Oklahoma.
The four high-capacity corridors that connect regional activity centers, such as major employers, educational institutions, and entertainment and commercial areas, were approved through an Alternatives Analysis Study that included a robust public engagement effort. The ONE Transit System Map shows the planned corridors and related modes.
